WiMo

Windows Mobile devices support for Linux desktop.

• Projects list:
  • WiMo-DCCM
    • It's purpose is to establish connection with PocketPC devices (WM5 or older).
  • GNOME-WiMo-Manager
    • It's purpose is to notify user about connected and disconnected PocketPC device and to ask user for device password.
  • WiMo-RAPI
    • WiMo-RAPI is free Windows Mobile RAPI and RAPI2 implementation written in managed Mono C# 2.0.
  • WiMo-DBus
    • WiMo-DBus provides WiMo DBus interfaces.

Howto install:

• $ sudo dpkg -i wimo-dbus_0.6.0-1build1_all.deb
• $ sudo dpkg -i wimo-rapi_0.5.0-1build1_all.deb
• $ sudo dpkg -i wimo-dccm_0.5.0-1build1_all.deb
• $ sudo dpkg -i gnome-wimo-manager_0.6.1-1build1_all.deb
• Logout
• Login
• Plug PocketPC synchronization cable to USB and that's it ;)

WiMo-DCCM

It's purpose is to establish connection with PocketPC devices.

Description

• WiMo-DCCM is written in Mono C# 2.0.
• It's purpose is to detect plug and unplug of USB PocketPC devices and creation of PPP network for devices with WM older than WM5.
• If device is password protected it sends password request do DBus to be captured by GNOME-WiMo-Manager.
• Signals of connected and disconnected PocketPC device are send to DBus.
• Also all connected devices can be listed throught DBus.
• You need to have working RNDIS driver if you want to use WiMo-DCCM with WM5 devices, otherwise these devices will not be detected.

Status

• Supports Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition and older.
• Supports WM5 with RNDIS driver.
• Compatible with SynCE RAPI tools.

GNOME-WiMo-Manager

It's purpose is to notify user about connected and disconnected SynCE devices and to ask user for device password.

Status

• GNOME PocketPC manager written in managed C# 2.0.
• User is notify of connect and disconnect of device.
• When one or more devices are connected systray icon appears.
• It shows dialog with informations about connected PocketPC devices.
• Important! It's creating connection files in .synce directory for compatibility with SynCE RAPI tools.

Howto

• Run:
  • Part of instalation process is instalation of autorun desktop file. So all you have to do is to re-login.
